This conference is to establish the functions of ships and captaincy.
Moderation Note:
Ships only need to be registered if they are to be used in roleplay. All other ship activity (such as cargo ships from deep space mining) are considered NPC's and are automatic. If you want to use one in RP, please register it.
SECTION ONE: SHIPS AND THEIR REGISTRIES.
1) All Ships are to be registered with the OSB and assigned a Registry Code
2) Registry codes are a code containing various forms of useful info to know about a ship at a glance. This information is as follows
A) Your nations National Identifier Code, which comes in the form of two letters. Ex: Anacodia would be AN, the Evergreen Republic would be ER, etc. Nations can chose any two letters from their name to act as their NIC.
B) Ship Classification. The ship classification is a letter signifying the class of the ship. the SC code can have subcodes, if a ship is multiple uses. IE a heavily armed corporate security ship would contain the SC code of OM.
a) C = Civillian. This is privately owned, non commercial spacecraft
b) M = Military. This is any official armed forces, private military/security, or police force craft.
c) G = Government. This is any official government craft. IE Diplomat, Prime Minister, Congressperson, Council members, etc
d) O = Corporate. This is separate from civilian, and identifies official non cargo company craft. (Ex an executives corporate transport)
e) B = Cargo. This is pretty straightforward, any ship designated as a cargo ship.
C) Serial code. This code is a 4 digit code assigned to a ship. This code is determined by the ships production facility, and is usually the unit number.
For example, an Anacodian corporate security craft could have the designation of AN-OM-1956
SECTION TWO: CAPTAINS
Moderation Note:
Captains only need to be registered to pair with a ship to be used in role play. See previous moderation note for additional context, same situation as there.
1) All Captains, regardless of national origin, are to register with the OSB and complete the internationally verified OSB training program. This is an intensive program to determine a Captain's ability to understand all aspects of spaceflight and ship management. Captains should have a keen understanding of Stellar cartography, engineering, and other usefull knowledge
2) Captains, like a ship, have a registry code. This registry code is determined similarly to a Ships code.
A) National Allegiance code. What nation is their primary citizenship in? this does not have to match their ships NIC.
B) License Classification. What ships are they cleared to fly? This can be multiple, and may result in their code being longer than anothers. Some of the Ship Identifier codes do not require a course to clear them to fly. (ie Corporate, they would need only proof of employment, and an authorization to fly company craft)
C) Their OSB course completion date, in the following format: MMDDYY
For Example, a Captain from the Evergreen Republic, who passed the course on 04/12/34, and completed the course for Cargo and flies for an ER Corporation would have the code ER-OB-041234
3) A Captain's registration profile should include a small biography detailing their career and general personality profile.
