Chapter 1: Conquest of the Stars
"Cold waters are running warm, Percival. The world order is sinking its fangs into another victim while we lay on rocky beaches." Izaiah rests his weight against the railing of his wooden balcony. War struck for the second time in his life, and he was at the head of it. "More of your poetic pondering, my lord?" Percival muses back, though Izaiah meets his friends gaze with a smile. "What did we agree on? No more formalities. It makes me feel like my dad." Percival rolls his eyes, cleaning up the messy office. "You can be called Izaiah when you stop working like a slop." Percival holds up a cup of coffee from a meeting three weeks ago with a look that is less than happy. "It helps me think! Creative chaos, if you will," Izaiah says, walking over to Percival to help him clean. The pair speak about the world and Izaiah's lack of professional hygiene.
In other parts of the Empire...
In the backrooms of the OGU building, Chief Siondy holds a conference about a launch that will take place in the coming weeks. Let's join in!
"The first launch is tonight, which will land a Star Dock in orbit. The Star Dock will be the build pad and launch bay for the construction of Asgard. Important documents point to the moon base being an off-plant vault that lock in the advanced system Odin. Odin is the national security monitor, an AI that offers projections for enemy invasions and suppresses them. Every Ovian-made vehicle is hooked into Odin's "heart." Land or sea, he watches Closely, but he is nonsentiant. Obviously, his handlers have the final say in any offensive orders, but on the contrary, he does not need permission for any defensive orders. By putting his heart and brain on the moon, we lower the risk of the opposition seizing control of important military infrastructure. Intelligence officers from the National Vanguard work closely with advanced systems like Odin, Mimir, and Thor to offer maximum war readiness. At any time, these systems may claim sentience, and their handlers will be more than happy, as they have gone so far as to treat them as if they were. The children of the empire and the kin of the Prince of Doom, as we call them, aren't all going to the moon. Mimir will stay planetside, as will Thor. Thor will be deployed with one of the forming offensive cloud jumper fleets, and Mimir will stay in Saint P to watch over the Buoy Array and satellite array."
Very Informative! It seems the Empire has its helmet on and is ready to venture into the vat of space!
