The Sapphirian Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) is the national public broadcaster of the Federated Sapphirian Isles (FSI). It is operated and wholly-owned by the FSI Federal Government via the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports (DTCS).
This service is the official news platform of the Federated Sapphirian Isles.

1. Federal Government to increase defence spending in next budget
On Wednesday, Minister of Defence Julian Russell announced that the Federal Government will seek to increase the nation’s defence spending when the next budget is tabled by the Minister of Finance in the National Assembly next year. “ I have spoken to Cabinet and we have agreed on this. After decades of underinvestment by past administrations, our government is taking action by rebuilding our armed forces,” he said during a visit to Joint Base Waltham-Warden in Meccorn state. Russell added, “We are committed in defending our homeland and our fellow citizens. It was what we promised during the past election and we intend to fulfil it.”
2. PM Diawara opens Sapphiriale Digital District
On Friday, Prime Minister Amina Diawara opened the new Sapphiriale Digital District campus in Azera ward south of Sapphiriale. The 2-billion tangit project which is part of the Sapphiriale Urban Redevelopment Plan aims to boost the FSI’s continued growth in the IT sector which already makes up 13% of its GDP and attract high skilled talent to the FSI. Some the project’s key backers include Corinthian Semiconductors, the Sapphirian Technology University, and Iris Technologies which have all set up new complexes in the Digital District campus.
3. Athletic Club wins FA Cup in style after 4-1 thrashing of FC Meccorn
At the Jackson Ansibin Stadium last Saturday, FC Meccorn proved no match for Athletic Club Sapphiriale as the Super League champions thumped them 4-1 in the FA Cup Final. The now 10-time FA Cup champions cruised to victory through an early brace by Mattia Lorenzo and two goals by Joe Sherman and Donald Lee in the second half. “I’m so, so happy….more than you believe,” cried manager Pedro Mendoza during an interview after the game.
