The origins of the Kingdom are unknown, mostly speculated to legend.
What is claimed to be their introduction to the world, is that the Kingdom's people were not born from the land- but the sea. They origins, spanning back to what many believe would be the origins of Atlantis, the fabled City beneath the waves.
Whether or not this was the Kingdom's beginnings, is up for discussion. However, there are historical findings that hint that the Kingdom arose from the depths to the shores of where they claim land by the hundreds of thousands, these "humans" arose from the depths pulling strange vehicles, foods, and technology never seen before. One would believe that such an advanced... "people" if you could call them that, would believe that they were always a united people given the advancement of their technology during the time period. But according to their own archives, that certainly wasn't the case.
You see- the Kingdom has various Dukes, Duchesses, Vassals, Counts and more- they hold on to titles of the olden days where humans would fight each other in the age of iron and steel. They also hang on to the beliefs and ethics of the time period still to this day, but instead of having a theocracy focused on Christ, they worship something below the waves. These lords of the sea waged brutal wars with each other, some focused on ethnic cleansing, some on survival and others purely for power.
Then, a man only known as Nemo rose to power. A simple man, from humble beginnings beneath the waves. First accounts make him to be a fisherman, who tired of land and wished to be one with the sea. He was a philosopher, you see. And his lectures drew people in by the thousands. Eventually, he decided that others would need to hear his sermons by force- and by praising the "Depths' ' would grant his people salvation. He led a religious crusade beneath the waves, those who did not convert- were destroyed in his wake. Now with the entirety of the underwater dwellers heading his commands, he began rapidly industrializing. Discovering new and advanced ways to generate oxygen from the minerals in salt water and heat vents in the depths below. His crowning achievement is what he called "Guardians". These guardians were mechas, their appearance calling back to the Armored warriors of the Sea they believe they are. They stand well over 20-30 feet tall, and were a centerpiece in Naticus's ground forces.

The Kingdom still prefers powered melee weapons such as spears and swords versus blasters and firearms, and seek to explore the Oceans rather than the stars.
It has been many years since the first King Nemo has lead his people from the waves, but now every leader that takes the Throne takes also the Title of King Nemo- which is only a title that can be taken, by the victor of a duel- and proven divine worship of the "Depths".
Currently, King Nemo is focusing on rebuilding his Kingdom's military and church- as his various Lords of his lands are rumored to be uniting against him. But only time will tell for the small, but old country.
