Vienna Protocol Activated.
After receiving warning from Intelligence Minister Angelina Fromm during a late night call Chancellor Acwulf Schulz has activated complete readiness of the Vienna Protocol. The Chancellery has not yet released any further details but the media reports that activating the Vienna Protocol includes law enforcement and the armed forces being placed on high alert. This would suggest that Projekt Ares has also been readied and is on standby, as well as enhanced emergency preparedness by Fiddlers Greene.
Chancellor Schulz made a brief statement after his call with Minister Fromm that “the Nationale Republik will stand up for ourselves and for our friends with every fiber of our being,” and that anyone looking for trouble better “watch where they stand.” When asked who he believed to be behind this Schulz gave a very simple answer: “I think we all know who.”

Schulz pledges ‘steadiness’ after Deputy PM nomination.
In regional news, Chancellor Acwulf Schulz has been nominated Deputy Prime Minister and accepted, and has pledged steadiness if afforded the opportunity to serve all of Declansburg in that capacity: “What we require at this moment in Declansburg is someone with a steady demeanor and one who’ll serve the greater interests of Declansburg in its entirety. We are all in this together no matter which factions we belong, and the Deputy Prime Minister must be able to remain calm in times of duress while not instigating more of it. Experience, commitment to all, and steadiness; this is my pledge to the Declansburg I love.”
Chancellor Schulz also stated that he would calmly step aside as Minister of Foreign Affairs if given the opportunity to serve.

Schulz pummels Brabus with 18-point lead.
The election has been clouded in uncertainty since the assassination attempt on Chancellor Acwulf Schulz but now it’s back on. Schulz will be holding a campaign rally at the home of the same soccer club he once played for, and the same stadium where he was shot over a month ago while holding his first campaign event. He will be running on his calming foreign policy and his steadiness here at home, say campaign advisers.
Chancellor Schulz is the Federalist nominee and Munich Governor Milo Brabus is the Independent nominee. Schulz currently enjoys a comfortable 18-point lead as Brabus struggles to capture ground with undecided voters, which is not a good sign in a chancellery election. Brabus’ support for “lighthearted” Communism is also failing miserably to resonate with the country.
The election will be held in one week.

Fromm to retire after 41 years.
Chancellor Acwulf Schulz announced during his media briefing this morning that Intelligence Minister Angelina Fromm will be retiring at the end of the year. Fromm has served as the Nationale Republik’s intelligence chief for forty-one years and has been the go-to confidant for each Chancellor she served with, and Chancellor Schulz continued that historic trend: “Angelina has been a vital member of our government for decades and her shining light will forever brighten our nation wherever she is; I will and we all will miss her, and wish her well.” Fromm will be appointed Minister Emeritus and as Honorary Director of National Intelligence after her retirement in December.

Assistance sent to Minuvano.
It has been confirmed that the Schulz Administration has approved the immediate transfer of humanitarian and infrastructure aid to Minuvano to assist with their crisis. “Minuvano is a neighbor here on the Liorian Continent and we feel it appropriate to assist them, and we will do whatever necessary to help them return to as close to normalcy as possible,” said Chancellor Schulz during a media briefing. A financial package of $250 billion has also been included and a direct line of communication to the Chancellery.
Schulz returns to the field.
Chancellor Schulz spent the afternoon teaching and playing soccer at the new Nationales Feld with high school teams who were ecstatic to be playing on the field with not only their Chancellor, but also a former soccer pro. He answered their questions, taught them everything he knows, and even allowed one lucky student the opportunity to throw a ball at him to “prove your toughness” as the student said. Laughter was plentiful as was a day of fun.

Polizei: Another lurker found.
Nationale Polizei and GSG-9 agents have detained a suspected terrorist they’ve been watching since the attempted assassination of Chancellor Acwulf Schulz. Items found on the suspect and inside his apartment suggest he is not from the Nationale Republik but will not be deported. The suspect’s name is not being released as mandated by the Vienna Protocol, and he has been transported to the Wentwurth Institute for psychological evaluation. An order for permanent placement has been issued by the Schulz Admin.

Vienna looks to ‘revitalize’ its foreign policy.
Reports are suggesting that the Schulz Administration is taking into consideration a possible revision to its foreign policy. No, there aren’t plans to revoke current partnerships but to strengthen them. Chancellor Acwulf Schulz believes the Nationale Republik must “revitalize our standing” with allies and fortify our commitment to them. “We must move forward and away from our recent setback, as we still have much to offer our allies and to those who we share the Liorian Continent,” Schulz said in a personally written statement submitted while he was aboard NR1. He was also asked about those who seemed to abandon the NR to which he replied, “Although it makes us uncomfortable we do understand, and we seek to improve our standing with them.”

Schulz asks world to stand up.
Chancellor Acwulf Schulz addressed the nation aboard NR-1 this evening but not to give his scheduled SOTR. The Chancellor instead focused his sights on the current increase of regional instability, particularly the invasion of sovereign nations:
“My intention was to report on the present State of our Republik but tonight no such report is needed, because our nation is strong. While we may have had our setbacks we continue to strive and not yield. Tonight, and right this moment, the world around us is unstable and ridden with deplorable and unprovoked acts upon sovereign nations. The nations and the organizations responsible for these cowardly acts remain unchecked, while the nations who’ve fallen victim to them are left to deal with the consequences. This is not right and this cannot stand, for an attack on one nation’s freedom and independence, and then another and another after that, puts all of us in danger of being next. We simply can’t allow for that to happen, and tonight I’m calling on nations who value their sovereignty and who hold their independence as a sacred right, to stand up and make their voices heard. Those responsible for these attacks must be stopped and be held accountable. Who they are or who they think they are should never certify them immune from judgement. This is our mission and our moment, let us not allow this terror to reach other nations. We must stand up, together, and we must not yield.”

Schulz Defeats Brabus.
Citizens of the Nationale Republik went to the polls today and elected Chancellor Acwulf Schulz to a full term. Schulz enjoyed an eighteen point lead for weeks leading up to the election, while Governor Milton Brabus struggled with undecided voters and failed to garner support for his “compassionate” Communist policies. The failure of the Continental Shield didn’t affect Chancellor Schulz’s campaign, with him leading by twenty-six points afterwards and just days before the election. His successful foreign policies with nations garnered him praise as did his commitment to assist smaller nations whenever and wherever possible. Domestic policy such as his economic growth also impressed voters.

We’re better than this.
To all of Declansburg,
There comes a time where we just have to sit back and relax, and breathe. Things are said in the heat of the moment, friendships are strained, but I know we’re better than this. If there is one thing that I know it’s that we’ve always been stronger together. We have overcome so much in the past to let this get in the way of what we want to accomplish. It is with high hopes that things do get better, and with some improvements to make Declansburg a more inclusive place for all, now and into the future.
With my sincerest regards,
Acwulf Schulz Chancellor of the Nationale Republik

Chancellery discusses Declansburg exodus.
Chancellor Schulz met with senior administration officials this afternoon to discuss the exodus from Declansburg, where expressed his content with the region’s ability to move forward and succeed. “There are obstacles but I’m sure we will prevail if we continue to be focused on our present and future,” the Chancellor said. He was also pressed on his thoughts of the nations who elected to vacate Declansburg. “I believe there’s a bit of deceit at play by some and the truth about what has been happening will come to light,” he concluded. When asked if there is information suggesting collusive behavior Schulz gave a simple answer, “Yes.” Further information coming at a later time.

International Organization unveiled.
Chancellor Acwulf Schulz made the official announcement today regarding the establishment of the International Organization (IO). During a televised address from his office at the Chancellery, Schulz explained the IO as an organization meant to be a place for right-wing nations to find acceptance and opportunity: “This is not a place for us to focus on being against something but for it; to be for the best interests of our economies and for the best interests of our citizens, and doing it together.” It’s not a military entity but member nations have the ability to “aid and defend” when deemed necessary. The IO is based in Vienna and its membership is open to fellow right-wing and right-leaning nations of Declansburg.
More information coming soon.
