Hurricane Avery - June 11, 2022 (Update 1)Category 1 Hurricane 90 MPH : 1 min. sustained WNW at 4MPH Located - 200 miles north of Yaxopsville
Mariners are urged to use caution in and around the location of Hurricane Avery. Interests in Calicadonia and Romanic Imperium should monitor the progress of Hurricane Avery into early next week. The storm is forecast to strengthen into Monday, reaching winds of 105 MPH. Additional forecasts will be released over the weekend. EXTENDED FORECAST
A cold front has stalled out north of Romanic Imperium and a low pressure system is heading out to sea south of the soon-to-be advancing cold front. The low pressure system will accelerate as it moves out to sea, and may not cause Hurricane Avery to turn if it exits the area in time. However, at this time, it is forecasted that Avery will turn ahead of the low pressure system on Thursday as a weakening Category 1 hurricane impacting Calicadonia. This forecast is subject to further updates. Avery will pick up speed through Monday and slow down again into Tuesday as it interacts with the low pressure system.

Hurricane Warnings have been issued for Western Calicadonia, with both major cities in Calicadonia now under Tropical Storm Warnings. HURRICANE AVERY NOW A CATEGORY 2, AIMING AT CALICADONIAHURRICANE WARNING: WESTERN CALICADONIAAvery is predicted to strengthen slightly tonight and into Wednesday morning before the storm begins weakening as it turns toward Calicadonia. Avery now has winds of 110 miles per hour, and may briefly reach Category 3 as it moves over the warm sea currents south of Calicadonia. North of these currents, the sea is cooler and conditions will be less favorable for development. INTERESTS ALONG THE WESTERN CALICADONIAN COAST SHOULD PREPARE FOR IMMINENT LANDFALL OF HURRICANE AVERY, AND SHOULD EXPECT LIFE THREATENING CONDITIONS. Local authorities are urged to begin preparing for impact of this storm now, which will bring with it powerful storm surge that could submerge low-lying areas. Avery is a dangerous hurricane with a large wind field. Hurricane force winds extend well beyond the eye wall of the storm and the storm will expand in size as it interacts with northern latitudes.

HURRICANE BRAD NOW A CATEGORY 1

This forecast is slightly changed from this morning, when Brad was a tropical storm with winds of 70 MPH. The hurricane has picked up speed slightly and has taken a further turn to the west than initially expected. Conditions are not favorable for development past Wednesday in the waters near Romanic. High pressure to the north continues to keep this storm further south than most hurricanes seasonal to this area. See the current position below:

Darcy Strengthens Slightly, Still Forecast to Landfall Near New Korroban as Strong Tropical Storm/Weak Hurricane EHC MAJOR UPDATE - HURRICANE DARCYThis will likely be the last major update by the EHC before Darcy's landfall in Devontalioka. Hurricane Darcy has winds of 80 MPH, representing a stronger cyclone than was observed yesterday. Darcy continues to take aim at a landfall near New Korroban, likely to the south of the city somewhere in the corridor between New Korroban and New Silverwatch. PREPARE NOW Darcy is a dangerous storm. Whether Darcy maintains hurricane status will make little difference in the effects felt by the storm upon landfall. Darcy will still produce winds capable of hurricane force gusts, even if it is a tropical storm. Some gusts may exceed 100 MPH. Rainfall rates of three inches per hour may also accompany Darcy, as has already been felt along the southeastern Devontalioka coastline from Darcy's outer bands. DARCY FORECAST TO WEAKEN SLIGHTLY Darcy is a disorganized storm. The storms strengthening can be attributed to temporarily favorable conditions and passage over warm water currents with high sea surface temperatures. These favorable conditions are temporary, and Darcy is expected to run into colder waters once it exits the warm water current's vicinity. Wind sheer is also expected to increase early this morning, several hours before Darcy's landfall. STORM SURGE ALONG COAST Storm surges along the coast are being reported at 6-8 feet along vulnerable coastlines. Darcy is a large system, causing a large amount of water displacement with winds that cover a broad swath of sea. Storm surge will be worst on the northern side of Darcy's center of circulation as the storm approaches land. RAPID WEAKENING AFTER LANDFALL After landfall, Darcy is expected to be a tropical depression within 24 hours.

HURRICANE EDGAR FORMS; EXPECTED TO RAPIDLY INTENSIFYEVERGREEN HURRICANE CENTER: Hurricane Edgar is a Category 2 hurricane. Just yesterday, the system was only a tropical depression barely worthy of mention. Edgar has winds of 100 MPH and a Saturday morning landfall in @naxomia is anticipated. Edgar will likely be a major hurricane on Saturday. Interests along the Great Sea coast in Naxomia should prepare immediately. FORECAST DISCUSSION: Edgar is passing over the warmest surface waters on the planet, across the shallow Great Sea which has sea surface temperatures of over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. While hurricanes are rare in the Great Sea, they can be major events. Conditions are favorable for development with no wind sheer projected for the next several days. Edgar is a slow-moving storm, which could maximize the impact felt by this system. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Edgar could attain Category 5 status by tomorrow evening.

MAJOR HURRICANE FRANCIS REACHES CAT 5WARNINGS/WATCHES by EHC for DEVONTALIOKA
Status: Category 5 Movement W at 10MPH Winds: 195 MPH Gusts to 215 MPH
DISCUSSION: An incredibly serious situation has evolved overnight off the shores of Pukkal as Hurricane Francis, which was a tropical storm only 48 hours ago, has undergone explosive intensification to become the strongest hurricane recorded in Declansburg's history with sustained winds for a 1-minute period recorded at 195 MPH by observations from EHC Hurricane Hunters and recordings from the Voyager Z satellite. Marine traffic in path of Francis should seek the nearest port immediately. Residents of coastal northern Devontalioka should undertake immediate steps to secure life and limb.
FORECAST: Hurricane Francis is expected to strengthen slightly before landfall on Sunday night. The storm will take a strange track due to an interaction with a subtropical ridge that has drifted south over the nation of Devontalioka. Francis is a compact hurricane, with hurricane force winds extending about 50 miles away from the center of circulation. Tropical storm force winds extend 150 miles from the center of the storm. Francis has a very well defined eye and has survived several eye-replacement cycles without noticeable reductions in strength. By all accounts, Francis is a monster. It is expected that the storm could increase in size, with a larger wind field, as it nears landfall. Storm surges will likely near 30 feet in Francis's eyewall on Saturday night. Evacuations should be underway once this forecast is issued by local governments.

EHC MAJOR UPDATE - MAJOR HURRICANE FRANCIS WILL STRIKE NOVUS LUCIDUM
Winds are currently sustained at 200 miles per hour in Hurricane Francis at the eyewall. Residents of Novus Lucidum should take immediate steps in the Elysium Metro Area. Hurricane Francis Category 5
Winds: 200 MPH Gusts: 230 MPH Pressure: 840 mb Movement: 10MPH NW
Discussion: Hurricane Francis has missed its chance to strike @devontalioka thanks to a break in a subtropical ridge. The storm will now ride the jet stream and strike Novus Lucidum as what will likely be a Category 4 hurricane. Conditions are expected to become less favorable to maintain the strength of Francis, which is the strongest hurricane recorded in Declansburg's History.
WARNINGS DROPPED FOR DEVONTALIOKA No warnings are now in effect for Devontalioka.
WATCH ISSUED FOR PARTS OF DEVONTALIOKA/ NOVUS LUCIDUM Some parts of Devontalioka will feel the outer bands of Francis through tomorrow. Winds could reach tropical storm status for periods of time.
WARNINGS FOR NOVUS LUCIDUM Francis will impact Novus Ludicum as a major hurricane. The difference between a Category 4 and Category 5 will not mean much to residents in the path of this storm. It will have catastrophic winds, storm surges above 20 feet and rains in excess of 20 inches at rates of 7 inches per hour in some locations. Total amounts could exceed 40 inches of precipitation in parts of Novus Lucidum.
