The Servant adjusts his microphone and the sound of steps on hardwood floor comes through
Prince Adrien: "His Majesty is in a foul mood today. I hope you brought something nice for him"
Prince Lothar: "That's nothing you should concern yourself over young master. I only need reason"
Princess Aurora: "Your plan is reason?"
Prince Lothar: "He will see the merits of my argument. The Emperor is wise"
Prince Adrien: "Really?"
Prince Lothar: "No."
The sound of doors opening echo from ahead
Prince Louis II: "...well i agree your majesty but-"
Emperor Louis XVI: "-How many times must i remind you that i want to hear no more ifs, buts or maybes?"
Servant: "Y-your Majesty, the others have arrived"
Emperor Louis XVI: "Ugh"
Group: "Your Majesty"
Prince Lothar: "I bring news from the Continental Shield, we must support CBF in their struggle against tyranny"
Emperor Louis XVI: "Why is this our problem?"
Prince Lothar: "Necropolis is a threat to continental security and global peace, they must be contained or deterred"
Prince Adrien: "Necropolis is no threat, rather a noble and just ally of ours. we have more to gain from continuing to work with them"
Prince Louis II: "I agree with Lothar your majesty, we cannot allow Necropolis to continue its warmongering"
There is a shuffling of items
Prince Adrien: "Look at this your majesty, the Necroians sent a brilliant uniform for you!"
Emperor Louis XVI: "Ooooooooo!"
Prince Louis II and Prince Lothar: "Damn"
Princess Aurora: "Say, what gifts have the Evergreen Republic and NR sent?"
Prince Louis II and Prince Lothar: "Uhhh"
Emperor Louis XVI: "Lothar, Louis. Leave"
There is the sound of footsteps from the two defeated princes
Emperor Louis XVI: "I'm not backing out of CS you know, not much is going to change that. But I'm not going to send my people to die for CBF, absolutely not"
Princess Aurora: "Very well your majesty, We bid you goodnight"
The Prince and princess stride out of the room, victorious
Emperor Louis XVI: "Servant, fetch me some grape soda. I am thirsty"
The servant makes his way to the door, passing someone else
Unknown: "Your majesty, That looks like quite the interesting uniform. You should try it on"

Emperor Louis XVI: "You took your time answering my call"
Prince Charles of Bourgogne: "I apologise, your majesty"
Louis XVI: "I have convened most of the senior princes, but as you are aware have opted to leave you abroad"
Prince Charles: "It has not escaped my notice your majesty"
Louis XVI: "I am currently calling you to summarise what i have made clear to the assembled princes and princesses"
Louis XVI: "I feel myself needing to remind some of them while they are entitled to foreign policy views they should keep in mind that they work in my interests and the interests of Roylaii first. Obviously this isn't you but i felt the need to inform you of what we discussed..."
Prince Charles: "Of course your majesty..."
There is a lengthy awkward silence

The Prince of Aelius, Lothar, strides into the room
Prince Lothar: "There you are nephew, i was looking for you"
Prince Adrien: "What is it now, you screw up the meeting with the Chancellor?"
Prince Lothar: "No. The Emperor is absolutely furious. I hear that Rotondian news have been making a mockery of Roylaiian spokespersons. He is quite upset"
Prince Adrien: "Oh great that's just what we need, the Emperor throwing a wobbly"
Prince Lothar: "And i thought it fitting to tell the Emperor that Rotondia would not be as so bold to actively mock our great nation if Necropolis wasn't supplying it with equipment"
Adrien drops his cup, splashing tea on the floor
Prince Adrien: "NO"
Lothar smiles
Prince Lothar: "I bet you can kiss that alliance goodbye, the Emperor is livid and we all know what he is like when he is angry. Completely unreasonable"
Prince Adrien: "Do you know how much effort it took?! How much i invested into that alliance?! The Emperor barely accepted it!"
Lothar puts his hands up by his eyes and mimics crying
Prince Lothar: "Oh boo hoo my alliance is gone"
Adrien stands up steps towards the Prince of Aelius
Prince Adrien: "You will regret this"
The is the sound of glass breaking and a crashing follow up
A guard appears in the door
Guard: "Prince Adrien, the Emperor wishes to see you"
The two princes look at each other, Lothar smiles
Prince Lothar: "A present wont bail you out of this one. I hope you like your new home in irrelevantville"

Princess Aurora: "Didn't have the support. It was a spur of the moment thing, not possible without the Krimerans"
Unknown: "They could have killed him"
Princess Aurora: "Still wouldn't help, the Emperor's heir is still unknown at this point, as much as Adrien and i have tried to get him to spill"
Unknown: "Well its a good chance its still one of you two"
Princess Aurora: "He has made clear to us, as well as Louis and Lothar, that it isn't any of us"
Unknown: "Well that cuts its down quite a bit. Process of elimination is possible now then?"
Princess Aurora: "Its most likely Prince Charles. If its not any of the other senior princes or Princesses its him"
Unknown: "There is always Prince Conrad and Princess Sylvie, can't forget about them"
Princess Aurora: "They are irrelevant. The Emperor practically doesn't know they exist. I'm solid on it, it has to be Charles"
Unknown: "If the Emperor dies then, your situation doesn't look good. Is there no way to be rid of him?"
Princess Aurora: "Again, we cant just kill other members of the Clan"
Unknown: "well you better find a solution soon, Coronation is only getting closer"

Multiple Imperials and military staff are seated around a table at a undisclosed location
Chairman J. Seine: "Well now that we have gathered, report"
Army Chief G. Jaune-Francia: "Situation is terrible if I'm honest. Foreign support is iffy, i don't know if we can rely upon it"
Collectively they look to the Emperor who sits solemnly at the end of the table
Princess Aurora: "Instead of answering our call to arms, the Evergreen Republic invaded Jessopotamia. The Continental Shield was weak from the beginning, now its members turn into vultures"
Army Chief G. Jaune-Francia: "The Nationale Republik, our brave and erstwhile ally, has pledged its support"
Chairman J. Seine: "but with our withdrawal from CS and the actions of a few members here, continued support is unlikely"
Prince Adrien: "They were unreliable from the start. The Guild in Necropolis however has decided to back us."
Army Chief G. Jaune-Francia: "Once we emptied our pockets for them"
Emperor Louis XVI: "And sold our honour"
For a lengthy moment the room is completely silent
Prince Adrien: "And it worked. Nothing more needs to be spoken of what we did"
Princess Aurora: "And the war in the north nears its completion, perhaps a deal can be struck with the Onyx pact?"
Army Chief G. Jaune-Francia: "I'm sure they are comfortable as they are. Petty tyrants with some nice new land, they don't want anything to do with this"
Chairman J. Seine: "Could we reach a settlement with Jesia?"
All look to the Emperor
Emperor Louis XVI: "The lowest I'll go is where they leave our lands and never come back"
Prince Adrien: "His majesty is right, We cannot go back on our word and nor can we surrender our sovereignty"
Army Chief G. Jaune-Francia: "If we had it your way we would have already sold it to the Onyx Pact!"
Prince Adrien: "They are not the ice savages you make them out to be! Would it be any better than sharing a grave with CBF and Romanic?!"
The Emperor stands and the two of them cease their shouting
Emperor Louis XVI: "Fight each other after we have pushed the Invaders back into the sea. That is our priority"

Two Imperials watch the military preparations below
Grand Prince Lothar: "Your majesty, the war is progressing as expected"
Emperor Louis XVI: "Which means we are losing."
Lothar: "I hear you had the treasury fork out many billions of pounds for some fifty thousand mercenaries?"
Louis XVI: "If your problem is with the cost, what good is money to us when we are dead?"
Lothar: "I don't expect them to be all that useful your majesty"
Louis XVI: "Adrien holds them in high regard and besides, they don't even have to fight to be worth the cost"
Lothar: "You spend billions for troops you never intended to fight?"
The Emperor turns to the older prince and scowls at him
Louis: "You disappoint me Lothar, of course they will fight. I will make this clear so i don't have to make this point again. We bought fifty thousand mercenaries from Necropolis and a few hundred thousand away from Jesia all at the same time.
Lothar looks confused
Louis XVI: "You see the guild has a set of rules as to ensure they do not kill each other. This now means Jesia cannot buy any mercenaries. I will take any opportunity that presents itself to gain support or at the very least deny it to Jesia. That is why it is worth the price and that is why such a high price was paid. I leave nothing to chance."
Lothar: "The Necroians must have known that when they crawled out of that cesspool they live in. I guess that Prime fellow is smarter than he looks"
The Emperor, increasingly irritated, steps up close to Lothar who stands much taller than him
Louis XVI: "And that would be because it is the brain that has everything to do with intelligence, and Lothar, you would know that if you had one."
The Emperor turns on his heels and leaves
Louis XVI: "Dismissed. Go do something useful with your wealth or something. And would somebody get me some grape juice?"

Emperor Louis XVI: "I have assigned a collection of you to protect Prince Adrien here as well as Prince Charles and Prince and his family"
Marshal Hector: "As you wish your Majesty."
Prince Adrien: "Your majesty im more than capable of protecting myself, i wouldn't wish to deprive you and the Bourgogne's of your guards"
Louis XVI: "I have it as my responsibility to protect members of my house, no matter how distant and i intend to make sure you are alive for our visit to Necropolis"
Marshal Hector: "The Palace is the most secure place in Roylaii, no harm will get even close to the Emperor. I made an oath as a guard and an uncle"
Louis XVI: "And there you have it. I have every most confidence with the good Knights"
Prince Adrien: "Do we have a general idea of the targets, other than me"
Louis XVI: "Aurora is definitely one, but the Krimerans appear to be taking no chances with that"
Marshal Hector: "Until as such time as we take one alive, the true extent will be hidden to us"
Louis XVI: "Their bravery shall be their undoing. Their luck will run out now that the Inquisitors are on their tail"
