Judicial Officer Act
The following legislation is for the defining of the role and responsibilities of the Judicial Officer in a single place for the ease of public understanding and access.
The Judicial Officer's primary responsibility will be the administration of the courts and trials.
The Judicial Officer shall be elected by parliament for a term of one year and, once elected, The Judicial Officer shall be awarded all regional officer authorities. (Per Article VI, Section II of the Constitution).
The Judicial Officer shall decree sentencing in the event of any conviction, which shall require either a guilty verdict from the Lower Circuit Court, the High Circuit Court, or by a majority vote of The Assembly in favour of a guilty verdict.
The Judicial Officer shall consider the validity of appeals against convictions or punishments. If the judicial officer believes that the situation has been resolved in a just fashion and in accordance statute then the Judicial Officer may reject an appeal.
The Judicial officer shall hear all complaints into the conduct of the courts. If the conduct of the court has been unsatisfactory then the Judicial officer my order a retrial overseen by a different judge. This does not apply to the Supreme Court.
The Judicial Officer must ensure that in all trials the prosecution provides relevant evidence and witnesses to ensure the integrity of the trial.
If the Judicial Officer is the individual on trial then the aforementioned duties shall be performed by the Founder.
