Prime Minister Announces Constitutional Vote in TRTHNBB's Embassy
The Region That Has No Big Banks (TRTHNBB) - A years-long process to create a new regional constitution in The Region That Has No Big Banks is nearing completion. New United Common-lands, the Prime Minister of the region, announced voting had begun in a post on TRTHNBB's regional embassy Dec. 14.
"I’m pleased to make the announcement that we finally have the opportunity to ratify a new constitution. This moment would not have been possible without the expertise and hard work of America The Greater who focused the regional government's attention on getting this completed," New United Common-lands wrote.
According to TRTHNBB's Prime Minister, the draft constitution being voted on is the result of a poll that occurred over a year ago, which signaled that the region was ready for a new Constitution. New United Common-lands wrote that TRTHNBB's original constitution, passed in 2016, was written largely by nations whom are no longer active.
"The original constitution, as designed by TRTHNBB’s founding fathers, was reflective of the nations and region at the time between 2016 and 2018," New United Common-lands wrote. "However, in the span of almost a decade, many of those nations have since retired or taken a step back from NationStates. Since then, TRTHNBB is made up of an entirely new populace with new ideas, prompting the need for a new constitution, reflecting the new ideological landscape of our region of today."
New United Common-lands told The Illuminator they are "very confident on the prospects of this passing" and said so far no opposition has been registered.
The vote on the new constitution is set to close on Christmas Eve, according to New United Common-lands.
"By Christmas we are hoping to have a new constitution," New United Common-lands said, adding that the new document's passing "will be a great Christmas present for the region."
